Properties

Energy solutions for properties are changing. Fluctuating energy prices, emissions requirements and the need for predictable costs are driving property owners towards electrified, flexible solutions. At the same time, more and more sites want to combine heating and cooling into a single, managed system.

Exocon offers heat pump solutions for properties where the energy system needs to be correctly sized, commissioned in a controlled manner, and operated predictably – whether heat is produced entirely on-site or as part of a larger system.

Heating, cooling and heat recovery

Many properties have a year-round cooling demand – for example, offices, hotels, shopping centres and logistics facilities. With Exocon’s solutions, the same system produces cooling while recovering the resulting heat for use in the property’s heating or domestic hot water.

In addition, heat can be recovered from other systems and processes within the property. This improves energy efficiency and reduces the amount of purchased energy, without adding complexity to how the property is operated.

Hybrid G – a flexible solution for constrained sites

Full-scale ground source heat is not feasible for every property. The number of boreholes may be restricted, plot space may be limited, or the investment risk may be too high.

Exocon’s Hybrid G combines air energy, partially sized ground source heat, and, where needed, supplementary electric power into a single, intelligently controlled system. Hybrid G enables energy-efficient heating and cooling even at sites where conventional solutions are not suitable as they stand.

District heating as part of the whole

District heating remains in use in many properties, and Exocon’s solutions can operate alongside it or as an alternative, depending on the site’s objectives. The solutions also enable bidirectional configurations, in which a property can both draw on external heat and produce heat for its own use or for wider distribution.

District heating does not dictate the solution – the solution is built around the needs of the property.

Predictable energy use

Predictability is essential in property applications. In Exocon’s solutions, heating and cooling energy demand is forecast based on the property’s load profile and weather conditions.

This enables controlled system operation and stable performance across all seasons.

Simulation to support decision-making

Exocon provides simulation tools that establish energy demand and equipment sizing in advance. Simulation gives a clear picture of how the solution will perform at a given property before an investment decision is made.

ExoCare – managed operation

The ExoCare service combines monitoring and control of the energy system. It keeps the property’s energy use under control and ensures the system’s operation remains transparent.

Typical property applications

  • Office and commercial premises
  • Retail and shopping properties (shopping centres, large stores)
  • Hotels and service buildings
  • Logistics and warehouse facilities
  • Public and semi-public buildings (e.g. schools, sports facilities, campuses)
  • Professionally managed residential properties with significant energy consumption
  • Selected agricultural and production facilities where heating and cooling relate to building use (rather than the industrial process itself)
